Enver Yucel is the Founder and Chairman of BAU Global and Bahçeşehir Uğur Educational Institutions (BUEI), Turkey’s largest private educational provider. Mr. Yucel is considered one of Turkey’s leading educational experts from pre-K through university education and devoted his entire life to provide equal and quality educational services to students in many countries, especially in Turkey. His innovative ideas and practices are on the forefront of educational development in Turkey and around the world. As part of his efforts to increase the quality of education and educational opportunities in Turkey, Mr. Yucel founded TÖDER, an association of all private education providers in Turkey, which works to advance the above mission. Mr. Yucel’s academic endeavors and his contributions to the future of education have been recognized not only in Turkey, but abroad. He is a member of the U.S. based Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB) and recently became the first foreigner appointed to the Board of Trustees of New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development. He is among the founders and on the board of World Education Entrepreneurs Society. Giving importance to global educational activities, he founded “BAU Global” Network, which is comprised of higher education institutions spread all over the world. BAU Global operates at 3 continents in 7 countries, and comprises 4 universities – Istanbul, Washington, D.C., Berlin, and Batumi – 2 language schools and 5 academic centers. He was awarded with “Outstanding Service Award” by The National Turkish Grand Assembly in 2008. Enver Yucel was also awarded with the “Education Award” by the American Turkish Council in 2010. His Excellency Pope Benedict XVI accepted Chairman Yucel for his contributions to the alliance of civilizations. Mr.Yucel, received the 2014 UNCA Special Award for his role in contribution to ‘’Global Education’’. Being the first Turkish person in the world to receive an award in this field, Mr. Yucel received his award from the U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
